Delta Public Library has partnered with The Ability Center to bring the DREAM (Disability Representation, Education, and Awareness in Media) project to our resources. The Ability Center is a northwest Ohio agency that aims to make communities the most disability friendly in the country. The Ability Center challenges people to think differently about disability, advocating, educating, partnering, and providing services. They have been operating since 1920 and serve 7 counties in our area. The DREAM is designed to ensure children’s books created by, for, and about people with disabilities are available to schools, libraries, and community spaces. There are 13 unique titles in the collection. March is Disabilities Awareness Month and the books provided through this grant will be on display at our Special Features book case.
